One Nation under God – Fact or Forgotten – Mar 16, 2026

Another 28-minute discussion with Brennen Sullivan about what it means for us to be a nation built on Judeo-Christian values … especially the unique legacy of Christian self-government set by the Puritans. The question is … where is that kind of dynamic today? Being a servant to others rather than to self is so important. This was/is the important role of the family and the local church in shaping those critical instincts … not the government.

Living with Courage & Conviction – Nov 30, 2025

A 28-minute discussion with Brennen Sullivan about the Pilgrims … the enormous difficulties facing them and how they (with God’s considerable guidance and assistance) finally came to success. Then with such success they had their new issues which they had to address … not rationally but again in faith. We have much to learn from those Pilgrims … because life continues to offer pretty much the same spiritual challenges.

Faith in the Aftermath – Nov 6, 2024

A very brief discussion (only 4 minutes … 14 minutes into this series) with with Deborah Pinkerton about the likely impact that the national elections just held (electing Trump to the presidency) will have on America. The election was most untypical in the way it was so calm … in comparison to some elections in the past, notably the 1912 and the 1824-1825 elections which were very stressful. But today, American culture at the local level is still the primary determinant of the direction America is headed … Washington, DC not withstanding.

From Cynical Christian to Hopeful Pilgrim – Sep 17, 2024

A discussion (28 minutes) I had with Philadelphia’s Lighthouse Production host Joe Watkins concerning my walk as a Christian over my many years. He was particularly interested in why, with my somewhat fancy academic credentials, as a former professor, I found myself happiest in serving in very humble settings (prison ministry, street ministry and ultimately Christian high schooling). This gave me the chance to explain what I have taught my own kids, namely that life’s greatest joys come in finding ways to be of loving service to others … the way Jesus himself exemplified.
